Asking for any links/contacts to ready made feeders for grey squirrels for sub 12ft/lb air rifle use.
Had a search around & not much luck.SMUK comes up with Ian Hampton as a contact but website is defunct.
Any help welcomed.
Regards,Andy.

I bought three army surplus .30 cal ammo boxes ( painted steel ) off FleaBay cut holes out put a treated ply base on ( for squizzers to sit and feed ) and electric socket for the feed and they easily take a 20Kg of mixed poultry feed .
Sealed lids with rubber gaskets so no water or damp Ingres except for the feed opening which is in constant use . Will get you some decent pics so you can see what I mean £45 delivered for the three boxes and totally squirrel proof .

Thought I should update my post in the hope it helps, here’s one of the feeders I made out of the ammo boxes, 100% weather and squirrel proof .View attachment 317323View attachment 317324View attachment 317325View attachment 317326View attachment 317327
Similar to mine - I used 81mm mortat cases - and they seem bomb-proof (see what I did there? 😎). I've had mine out for about 3 years now 👍🏻
I got fed up of squirrels chewing wooden ones to bits, even with reinforcement mesh on, so went down this route. You won't regret it.
(Only difference on mine is I put a small vertical wooden section as an upright at the back of the tray as a sacrificial backstop if any pellets passed through so they hit that rather than the metal face of the box itself)

I think I'm right in this but the bit on the bottom left of the box is the metal socket box which has a hole going inside the main box and then a hinged lid for the squirells to lift up and get to the feed?

So as they lift the lid and eat the feed more feed trickles into the socket box?

Yes exactly that .

The triangular ply on the front section is no nailed on to take the edge off any pellets that might miss or pass through just at roughly head height as they sit 👍 .

I was looking at the brinksworth ones on eBay probably order one this week.
I made some out of plywood with plasterers metals edging to try to protect it. Wasn’t as successful as I’d envisioned so metal ones seem to be the way forward.

I’ve seen 4 & 6” plastic pipe used cut with and angle for the base. They look like they are good and cheap to make too
