Stalking Directory Insurance??

Here’s an idea for the site owners:
Maybe this is a good time to offer some kind of public liability insurance package for Stalking Directory (supporter) members?
I’m sure many people are about to be looking for insurance for shooting and it can’t be that difficult to find an underwriter for a package similar to what you would get with membership with the main shooting organisations?

I used to be in with the SD/SACS linkup. But that seemed to quietly disappear. The annual reminders stopped coming.

Now I cover my back with Shooting Insurance: from £14.99 - SportsCover Direct for £15/year.

I've looked carefully into it and I think that it covers my needs. Others of course may think that they have greater needs.

BTW, they have clarified to me that "Game Shooting" includes deer stalking, so it's all good. Unless you are are doing this professionally, or as a sort-of business, call it "pest control" or whatever. But meanwhile for the likes of me, I think that £15/year is not too bad, about right. As I'm sure do their underwriters, surely we are, in general, very safe people to do business with.

And what was the outcome?
iirc, the site owners didn't want to turn their hobby of running SD into an administrative nightmare or a full-time commitment. I don't blame them.
Also, iirc, there was some scheme that they tried before but despite everyone saying "great idea" very few members put their money where their mouth is by supporting it, so it was a waste of time and effort. But I may be mixing that recollection up with something that happened on another site.

Hobby, Tim? I see them as our three full-time parents. :dummy:

Perhaps it has been offered before and not many took it up, but now would be the opportune time to have a scheme like this up and running.
I think it’s the sort of thing you would want rolled into the “supporter member” class or similar so that there is some financial benefit to the site owners for their time and trouble.
With many people apparently losing faith in their shooting orgs, I would expect a good uptake, and many people just want one direct debit set up for shooting insurance...... but what do I know? I have never run a Website.

Correct on both recollections

Fair enough. It doesn’t make a jot of different to me. As I said: it was just a thought.
I’ll get back to work now. :tiphat:
