Laid off this am, by text, there was some confusion over maintenance of some Royal Mail specialist vehicles, but all sorted now, (except what the financials are going to be, or not).
Regardless of the risks it sound like you think that going out stalking is far more important than listening to and taking notice what the government has ordered FOR OUR OWN PROTECTION AND SURVIVAL? If people are not prepared to listen to and abide by what we have been told to do by the government there could well be a lot more tighter laws made, and pretty soon!
And tonights tea, some "vintage" pheasant breast.......can't help but get the feeling that supermarkets are going to be the main 'get yer Covid here' venues, a good time to run the freezer down...
I think that most members here are fiercely independent & thinking countrymen. Infinately responsible & trustworthy (having had to prove that frequently so as to be able to enjoy our pastime)
Happy with our own thoughts and in our own company.
Glad to be able to be solitary & away from all the bloody humbug of daily drivel that can sometimes intrude upon our lives.
Now, we are as mad as hell to suddenly be told what to do & how to behave!
It's good for the imagination to be able to invent & share all manner of devious means to circumvent these new "rules"![]()
We know what we have to do.
I honestly do not for one minute think that there are going to be any winners in the case of this Coronavirus and some of the losers will almost certainly be the health service workers. While they are prepared to literally put their lives on the line to do all they can to try to keep the health service from collapse and minimise the spread of this evil disease it really is up to us to do our bit too and show some responsibility in the way we now live and behave. It's nothing at all to do with "Corbynism" (I personally can not stand the sight of him let alone listen to his voice and the carp that he comes out with), Communism or anything like that. This Coronavirus is a very real and serious threat to life, and it's going to get much worse before we see any light at the end of the tunnel so it's down to everyone of us to be the sensible, intelligent and responsible people that we have always professed to be - The time has come to do what the government have told us to do without trying to find "loopholes" or excuses!
If routine wildlife management operations have been deemed non-essential by Govt for full-time professional Wildlife Rangers then it sure as hell isn't essential for anyone!I’m at home
You can still get your leg over but just not with your neighbourphysical distancing.
I believe that you could be slightly wrong there. What I believe that the government is trying to do (And I accept that it is just my opinion/translation of the situation, and I could well be wrong) is to slow down and control the spread of Corvid-19 and save the NHS from going into melt down!Rot.
What the government is trying to achieve is physical distancing.

And I hope people listen to what you say. Best of luck to you and all your hard working colleges. We have been dealing with this virus day in and day out in the Accident and Emergency department. Everyone in the department has had to pull overtime to make up for sickness and fill in for staff who have been told to isolate as they are at risk. We are all knackered, both emotionally and physically and the worst of it is still yet to come. I'm sure this feeling is echoed across every hospital in the UK.
All of us in the NHS would really appreciate everyone to just stay in. Minimise the risk to yourself and others. And I dont mean just the virus. Now is not the time to be having to present to hospital with any injury, I.e. a slip of the gralloching knife, a misstep on the highseat ladder rungs, or an RTA which may or may not be your fault not the way to your grounds.
To put it into perspective, half of our accident and emergency department has been devoted to purely dealing with patients with covid symptoms, and this is expected to increase to the whole department. That means we have less than half the capacity to deal with anything else right now - as each covid bay demands it's own set of staff wearing full PPE (the type provided is pathetic compared to almost every other country).
While stalking may well be considered exercise, it is inherently more risky than just a walk around the fields. For this reason, despite the fact that a good stalk sounds like the best way to wind down after a long shift at work, my guns will be staying in their cabinet until we have a handle on this.
But I am not here to dictate to anyone what they can and cannot do. Just putting my perspective/opinion out there.
Guys,You’re allowed out once a day for exercise.
I make that one outing stalking per day......
I can’t agree more, like it’s been said, IF IT FEELS NORMAL YOU ARE NOT DOING RIGHT. Day to day life at the moment should feel far from normal.Guys,
We are at war, the enemy is a nasty little virus that will slowly suffocate you and your loved ones over a couple of days. It has no boundaries ,follows no rules and respects no one.
Let's not behave like a bunch of asshole senior counsel looking for loop holes in the fine print we can exploit to carry on as normal, stay in, stay away and stay safe.
You can still get your leg over but just not with your neighbour

Day to day life on a farm is business as usual right now. It hasn't changed one jot.I can’t agree more, like it’s been said, IF IT FEELS NORMAL YOU ARE NOT DOING RIGHT. Day to day life at the moment should feel far from normal.
