stalking rights/ permissions?

Stalking rights/permissions?

I agree with everything you chaps have said. I've just come back from a weeks stalking in Devon. The stalker I accompanied boasted endlessly about the thousands of acres he had. Most of it he had not stalked for years. His books were full of rich foreign stalkers who would pay anything to get a deer.
Although I saw plenty of Roebucks, I came away with nothing. Just as I raised a rifle the stalker would stand on a branch under foot, or start talking or move about, funny how that makes the deer run away!
It soon became obvious that he wanted my stalking outings money, but wanted to save his deer for his over seas clients. Just before I left, two of these gentlemen got a Roebuck each on the very same ground, first stalk! Other stalkers who have been out with this gentleman report similar events.
At present I am preparing a deer management plan for a local wildlife charity in the hope that they will give me some land. I've got high seats in one wood and the ranger and woodland officer are both very keen on a cull but the charities trustees (bunny huggers) are going to take some convincing.
