Stalking Show 2023

Luckily the show organisers don't see it that way
Luckily for you anyway. I have nothing against dogs. I own 3. But the shows are the last place I would take them, in or outdoors. I remember looking out of the BDS tent last year and seeing dog mess behind trailed along the walkway by numerous adults and children because someone couldn’t be bothered to clean up after their dog. The dogs that were there were melting in the heat and didn’t have waging tails. ☹️
I get that for some it’s unavoidable but I’m sure that most of the overweight labradors could be left at home.

I find her quite handy in a crowd, people tend to move out the way. As for the dog mess that's the result of a lazy tosser unfortunately, nobody likes that.

Yep. Someone always ruins it for everyone and that's the problem. People moan when dogs are banned from various places but it's their own fault. I had three yellow labs come running up to me whilst I was gralloching just inside a wood yesterday morning. Dogs on leads are allowed but not off it. The couple were shouting to get the dogs back but didn't see me. I let them clear up a roe and munty gralloch that was intended for the badgers! Hopefully the dogs got home before being sick!

Could be that some people are coming from a long way off and therefore cannot leave the dog at home with anyone. Lots of reasons why people bring their dogs. Frankly if it were me I would need to bring our dog as we have no one to look after him and he would hate a kennel.

See you there for those that are attending

Going again but will eat off site as it was't up to much upstairs last year but show was imo better than the Shooting show.

Last year there was a stand downstairs doing venison burgers cooked while you wait, they were pretty good. I didn‘t try the upstairs food outlets last year. Last year I watched Ralph Skripek cooking demo and managed to blag some venison he‘d cooked and served on a flat bread he’d also made and cooked, absolutely gorgeous.

I will not be attending the show, bit too far out for me at present. However I wish the you all a safe and speedy journey to and from the show. Also our congratulations to the show organisers who have put a huge amount of time and effort into the 2 day event. Best wishes to you.

I am looking forward to going, last year was great. I enjoyed the butchery demo's and not seeing loads of tat stalls like at the Shooting Show. A few items on my shopping list such as a decent skinning knife and bone saw possibly another shotgun if anyone is selling Benelli there.

Now why would anyone be selling a shotgun at a stalking show :-|

Not sure if many general gun shops will be there. Livens gun shop are going, a bit late I know but contact them, see if they have the model you want and see if they can bring it along. I’ve dealt with Livens in the past and they are usually very helpful.
