Is it requiring surgery or rather more of a rest & recuperate?.
Hope you are ok, if you get stuck and need rifle, carcass etc collecting or extracting give me a call.Started off as a very pleasant morning stalk.
Now in hospital with pretty serious knife stick injury (self inflicted) and considerable blood loss after walking half a mile carrying all my kit, unable to staunch the flow.
It's a dangerous world out there! Stay safe, chaps.
Get well soon Tim.Yes, I had 1st aid kit. It was very quickly overwhelmed, and there was a limit to what I could do with one functional hand.
I fire up a Bivvystik.goes back to always making sure someone know where you are stalking. We go to the same places again and again and nothing happens or the brain says nothing will happen! 6 weeks ago I was busy trying to sneak around two roe to get into a safe shooting position. Watching the deer and not where my foot was goping. Fell into a hole. Nothing new there as the ground was mounded and many holes left. Fell forward thinking nothing of it. But felt a little tap on the back of my leg. thought something had fallen out of my pocket. Went to stand up and it hit me . The pain in my lower left leg was incredible.Thinking what the hell have I done, then looking towards the deer to see if they were laughing at me.!! Struggled even to hobble on it, so strapped the sticks to it to help. A painful hour later and I am at my pickup. Thanking my lucky stars !!! mmmm !!! that I drive an auto. evntually got home, straight to docs who put me straight to A+E who were waiting for me. Leg was three times the size it should be by now. Thought it was broken, but on examination it was a torn muscle at the back of my leg. Big moon boot and crutches for 2/3 weeks. Moral of these stories, always have someone know hwere you are and always plan for the worst situation. Never say it won't happen to me. I am always careful. Doesn't need to be your fault!!!...J
