Stephenson and son gunmakers

Anybody used Stephenson and son gunmakers looking at getting a gun stock made for my wife and have read good things about them but just wanted to ask someone who had used them.

For my stock work I have used Malcolm Cruxton since Brendan Kelly passed many years ago.

I've used them for some stock work, but not making a full stock. However, their work is VERY good, with good attention to detail.

I first came across them, at a show, where one of the guys was demonstrating hand chequering a stock.

Just spoke to Midland guns after reading an article by Beckie McKenzie getting a stock made by them and she was very pleased with their service and they are a chunk closer to me. Just wondered if anyone on here has used them for stock work as I might call down to see about a stock for my wife’s eell

Rather than having a complete new stock made which will include all the inletting etc have you considered having the existing stock altered. A lot can be done by reshaping, or adding an adjustable comb or inletting a piece of wood to give a higher monte carlo style comb.

Butt plate is enough to alter and adding a good recoil pad that takes into female anatomy.

Yes I looked into this and can’t get enough cast on the stock and the pistol grip is too large So figured a custom stock and as my wife is planning on keeping the gun a good while I believe it to be a good investment but just want to make sure I am spending my money wisel.
