Steyr Mannlicher Luxus Stutzen 6.5×57

Hi everyone,

some of you might remember my questions about Steyr Stutzens a few months ago. I'm left handed so I was looking for something in that direction. Originally I wanted Steyr Model M but someone suggested Luxus instead. Might have been a very good advice as the all steel Luxus does have that solid feel to it. So long story short, I managed to find this used vintage Steyr Luxus in 6.5×57 with left handed stock. My prefered cal would be 6.5×55 which I allready own but this one will be nice too. It has that germanic flavour to it that will go nicely with the rifle itself. The rifle looks, feels and handles lovely, it's short and compact. The riflescope is Kahles Helia S 6×42 with Steyr's original detachable mounts. It came to me without magazine so I bought two off egun. Unfortunately they do not fit. Must have got the wrong ones. I wonder how the right ones look.

i have some factory RWS cone point ammo and brass in 6.5x57 if your interested it s superb calibre for deer

Mine has the numbers 678. Perhaps this stands for june 1978 ?

Yes, that is most likely correct as mine has 1079 on it and I was told by the gunsmith at Steyr USA (who is from Austria) that mine was mfg. in October of 1979.
