I'm just about to buy a Stihl MSA70 battery chainsaw and Stihl RMA 239C lawnmower, It's not going to be cheap so thought I would ask if anyone has any experience and thoughts on them before I take the plunge.
The chainsaw will be for cutting logs for firewood and the lawnmower will be for medium lawns as Ive taken on cutting my elderly neighbours garden as she is struggling to do it herself

I have the msa220,it’s a brilliant little saw for small stuff 6 to 8in,I run 3 x 300s battery’s,wouldn’t like to think I’d got to use it for all my logs but it excels as a side of the chipper saw 👍

I have a sthil battery MSA 70C chainsaw and it's fabulous! Have ripped through logs of 9" so far with no problems and the battery lasts ages. I used it recently to log up a tree I took down in the garden and 40 minutes later, it still had charge and left a nice big pile of wood to leave to season. It's not as suitable for the big stuff for which I use a larger petrol saw but for pruning and logging up it's ideal.

I love how quiet these things are and how nicely they handle. There are alternatives but the Stihl ones I think are some of the best made ones and use a fab battery which you can also use in their pole saw and other accessories. Easy to strip for cleaning, chain tensioning is tool-less and it's a pleasure to use.

I have no experience of the msa 70 but have got both the msa 200 & the msa 220 they are brilliant 👍👍I have four husky xp saws too but more often than not I use the msa saws , had absolutely no issues with either of them 👍👍

I have also picked the RMA239 Lawnmower so I can use the same battery system, From the comments above I'll go ahead with the order, My local dealer never had the lawnmower in stock for me to physically see it but said I am under no obligation to buy it when it comes into the shop next Tuesday

I have an MSA120 chainsaw and an RMA235 mower. Both quality items that use the same AK20 batteries.
I get about 25 minutes chain sawing from a battery and only use about 1/4 battery for my small lawn - 120 m2 ish

Can't comment on the lawnmower but my girlfriend has the chainsaw and it has been fantastic for her. There is nothing she likes more than an implement of destruction and she has cut up some serious amount of wood with it with no problems. You aren't going to be felling any big trees but I've been surprised and just how large some of the stuff she has taken down has been.

Have a look at Greenworks. They make all the battery gear for Stihl. Exactly the same product .And cheaper if im correct .

Just seen this, I have the Greenworks lawnmower already, Yes it's OK but I wouldn't say its Stihl quality.
Anyway I took the plunge and bought it and also went for a Blower Vacuum
