Stoney Point Polecat Rapid Pivot Bipod

Greetings!

I have just ordered this Stoney Point Rapid Pivot Bidpod from uttings.co.uk, any comments on best fitting and/or shooting practice using this product. I liked the thought of it because you can simply pull the bipod legs off the swivel fitting when you need to shoot from sticks/trees/fences/etc/etc, but it's a breeze (apparently) to stick them on if you need to shoot from the prone position.

Apparently they also accomodate for your shoulder strap

any comments on this, or on the slightly longer versions for more open country shooting?

Hi PKL,

Im very much a fan of the Harris 13"-25" Swivel Bi-pod. It never leaves my rifle. It is the best invention, I also think it is the only one I "almost" like the look off (This is VERY important to be a succesful stalker ). I will get round to trying Stoney Point stuff at some point, but for the time being the Harris and B&Q garden sticks rule the roost!

I use the polecat on my .22. It's ok, not a bad little system really, the feet have a tendancy to spring together a bit, but quite useful for sitting by a warren or dispatching fox cubs when sat waiting. Mine is the smallest one (no jokes thankyou!). As regards to centrefire use, I'm afraid I can't help, but imagine a tall one for standing shots could be useful - I've cetainly thought about it for lamping on foot alone. Will be interested to hear how you get on with it.
