Stroud Deer Best Practice Evening

I've had many a time spent with Rodney Calvert in my professional role.
He's a nice guy, very knowledgeable in many aspects of wildlife and of licencing.
If I had seen this thread beforehand I would have gone along.
Have a great evening 👍

What a great evening it was. It was a perfect atmosphere and some really great products there to look and play with.
The speakers were passionate and very informative and I think a lot was learned.
Another excellent event Alistar Boston put on and all for £7!!! Also was great to see something going towards the local food bank.
Well done Alistair Boston 👍

A really good event. Three great speakers, especially informative was Peter Green’s talk on bTB in deer. Some great new products available to view and view through from Pulsar and HIK. Well done to all who organised it.

I attended this event. Very well attended and conducted. The TB in Deer session with Peter Green was of particular interest to me having never been exposed to it in Deer I’ve culled.

Thanks for the feedback and for attending last nights event, its nice to hear that you all enjoyed it. I would also like to thank south west FWAG,Thomas Jack Ltd,Hik and BASC for supporting the event. Biggest thanks goes to the three guest speakers Chantal Lyons,Dr Rodney Calvert and Peter Green all of them were sheer quality. We also managed to raise £280.00 for the Stroud District Foodbank. Got to agree it was a very good evening, thanks for helping make it happen.

Three good speakers, interesting products and good company - what's not to like? I was very impressed by Peter Green's presentation on bTB - which highlighted the risks associated with feeding wild deer. The devastating spread of CWD in the USA has been linked to the widespread use of bait stations by hunters. I suggest more needs to be done to raise awareness of the risks associated with feeding in relation disease transmission - it's relevant to hunters, farmers, deer park managers and, as Peter highlighted, even those opposed to hunting - with the example of how feeding deer on land owned by the League Against Cruel Sports led to a large number of deer dying of bTB.
