Wanted: Subaru Baja 2025 (small pick up)

I was a schoolboy and Charlie the local keeper picked me up at 6pm on a school night, and dropped me back home at 8pm.. those two hours were the best two hours in my life for years... John Austin the farm manager hammered around the fields in one of these pickups with me in the back trying to shoot hares and rabbits... 26 hares & 9 rabbits later... he even threw his cartridge bag in the back when I ran out of Eley Impax... and told me to bring machine gun next time... a night I will never forget... my mates at school next day wouldn't believe it, and Charlie gave me 20 quid as well next day when he had dropped the hares into Bambridge the gamedealer...
Failing the availability of the former, I could suffer the seating position in one of these ...

Had a blue one back in the day, white weller 8 spokes, knobbly tyres, 4in roll cage complete with the must have super oscars on it... God I thought I was the boy
Brilliant trucks, 40mpg and great off road. My mum had one that I used to borrow, but after a nights lamping with a keeper friend I always had to make sure I'd cleared out the .22rf cases and put it through the car wash to wash the mud off otherwise my Dad would go garrety!
Apologies for the bone question, but has anyone actually seen anything official online?
Have seen some renderings on tinted web but no idea if Subaru are even going to produce such a vehicle? Also read stuff that suggests a choice of 2.0 or 2.4 turbo hybrid versions with two trim levels.
I’d certainly look to chop in the D2 & the D4 for a reasonably priced & reliable pick up like this - if it’s for real…
I guess it’s hurry up & wait!

Kind of the reason I started the thread but it lost in translation some how
I've heard it won't be coming here because of the Euro emissions restrictions.

Surely emission controls are tighter in Japan where Subaru is based than they are in Europe? Thought it was only ‘rest of world’ (ie Africa) spec vehicles that couldn’t be imported to Europe?
Also read this morning that VW have committed $5.8bn investment in Rivian to develop new electric vehicles. Always thought the Rivian truck was great tech, but uaf, & a downsized version with proper styling & an Amarok badge on the back would be ideal over here.
The wife's car is a 15 plate octavia scout but to be honest I've never tried it other than a forestry track
Still would prefer option of a low bax at least it ability to stick in 4wd when you decide

They are but the market for this is USA and Australia where they aren’t.
I have had an email confirmation from Subaru UK that as far as they are aware there is no new Baja pick up being released & with the restrictions on petrol & diesel engines in UK/Europe any new pick up would likely be limited to the North American market. Their suggestion was consider a dmax

I think that's because they have the same importer, and the brands often share the same garage.

I was quite excited thinking it was going to like the originals size. This one is just another same same truck
