While this is absolutely tragic it wasn't gun laws that caused it.
Sweden has alot on its plate in the future.
Sweden has alot on its plate in the future.
Both very good examples of police failings, you mention since the ban its never happened again, true, but before the ban it didn't happen either, much like the ban of semi-auto cf and michael ryan, another failure by policeWe had legally held handguns.
Somebody who legally held handguns shot up a primary school.
We banned legally held handguns.
It’s never happened again.
Handguns were not used for hunting (excluding human dispatch) or defence purposes in this country, they were for target hobby use only.
Derek bird used a shotgun and rifle to shoot 13 ( I think) people, these weren’t banned because they are of practical use.
Maybe gangsters who only tend to use guns against each other are less of a problem than middle aged white men with a Rambo complex? Just a thought.
It did happen, that’s why they were banned. Now imagine Derek Bird with pistols, loads of ammo and extended magazines, rather than a double barrel shotgun and a bolt action .22. I am not debating guns don’t kill people, people kill people. But if somebody goes off the rails, easily concealed high capacity semi automatic pistols are more of a problem than the old side by side in the cabinet. Both very good examples of police failings, you mention since the ban its never happened again, true, but before the ban it didn't happen either, much like the ban of semi-auto cf and michael ryan, another failure by police
Imagine a law abiding citizens carrying a legally held pistol ending Derick Birds rampage quickly and efficiently. It did happen, that’s why they were banned. Another bullshît article. Sweden is much more than a few small area's that have gang problems. I feel perfectly safe living in Sweden and would have no problem visiting Malmö , Stockholm or any other town that has gang problems. I would just steer clear of the small problem area's of these towns. While this is absolutely tragic it wasn't gun laws that caused it.

Did 32 explosions happen in January?Another bullshît article. Sweden is much more than a few small area's that have gang problems. When I lived in England I worked on several sink estates that were shîtholes 40 years ago. One in Scotland that reminded me of ththird-world place a bad day.
I think Ryan killed most of his victims with a 9mm pistol. Both very good examples of police failings, you mention since the ban its never happened again, true, but before the ban it didn't happen either, much like the ban of semi-auto cf and michael ryan, another failure by police
Scotland has lots of shitholes as with most of the UK, I feel safe too.Another bullshît article. Sweden is much more than a few small area's that have gang problems. I'm sure there were, and if I recall correctly, there were 43 in the first six months of 2023 and quite a few in the year prior to that, plus there were shooting with full auto weapons.Did 32 explosions happen in January?
Not very quickly, the desire to destroy Europe and the UK hasn't ended yet hopefully with the starvation of the dollar from these dodgy NGOs it will happen sooner than later.I'm sure there were, and if I recall correctly, there were 43 in the first six months of 2023 and quite a few in the year prior to that, plus there were shooting with full auto weapons.
But these incidents are confined to very small areas of certain towns. Unhealthy places to live if you are a gang member.
The misguided immigration policies of the past will not be put right in the short term, but hopefully, we will see a slow turn round in with the situation over the coming year.
How soon is the immigration problem and associated crime wave going to be tackled in the UK?.
Sweden is safe and peaceful place in the main. The dodgy places are where normal Swedes are not going to visit anyway. Gangland warfare is nothing new. Years ago there was a big problem with motor cycle gangs, hells angels, bandido's, etc. They keep a low profile today but have not disappeared. Not very quickly, the desire to destroy Europe and the UK hasn't ended yet hopefully with the starvation of the dollar from these dodgy NGOs it will happen sooner than later.
The reason am shocked with 30 odd explosions is Sweeden has a reputation of safety, peace and IKEA not gangland warfare
Doesn’t happen that way in the USA to often though does it?Imagine a law abiding citizens carrying a legally held pistol ending Derick Birds rampage quickly and efficiently.
Criminals will do crime
Same reason we don’t ban knives, because they are essential everyday equipment. Just because someone misuses them it doesn’t mean they aren’t used in everyday life.More people have been killed deliberately with trucks, so why not ban trucks?
Why are vehicles capable of over 70mph allowed to be sold in the UK?............
I think you will find it happens alot more than you think but that would be a positive for gun ownership, states that allow concealed carry are statistically the safest and the states with the strictest gun laws are statistically the most dangerous. Rocket science no.Doesn’t happen that way in the USA to often though does it?
My point in sharing the article above.Slightly off topic, but then I've already made clear my feelings in the matter of banning things. Nor will I speculate on shooter motive.
What additionally shocked me is how singularly out of touch I am with the reality of living 'conditions' within Sweden in 2025!
To be confronted with a reality that this once most attractive Country may no longer be considered a model of clean living in terms of both person and place has hit me very hard.
Where the hell has it all gone so very, very wrong within Swdesish Society?
K
Less knife crime are balancing out more explosives and firearms, it looks like semi auto pistols are less dangerous in the hands of criminals than knifes. Not very quickly, the desire to destroy Europe and the UK hasn't ended yet hopefully with the starvation of the dollar from these dodgy NGOs it will happen sooner than later.

Not according to the reports I read of the crimes, if this were the case, would the government of the time not have included them along with the semi auto rifles in the banI think Ryan killed most of his victims with a 9mm pistol.
