SWIFT SCIROCCO II 243

Anybody had any experience with these bullets through a 243? Having a tough time getting my usual powder for reloading so thinking of having a swap around and trying something new.

The 90gr Swift Scirroco II are great bullets but I wonder if your time might be better spent developing a lead free load given the impending ban? A 80gr Barnes TTSX would give very similar results in my experience and be future proof. JMTPW

Not the V II but been using the originals for ages and they do a great job in 243. I have good loads in 80gr TTSX and 85 TSX too so will probably continue on the Barnes route once the scirocco are all use up

The data shows they create pressure quickly and I have indeed found that.
Ensue you use data for the specific bullet as it’s considerably lower charge weights like 38gr instead of 43gr as an example
They like more ‘jump’
The BC is probably overstated
I’ve shot a few thinking I’d use my 243for mixed roe and red but ended up using the 85gr interbond instead which was brilliant. I suspect the scirrocco would be similar

Thanks everyone, think I might give the 90gr a go and see how I get on, what powder would you recommend? I’ve always used RL 19 but it seems literally unobtainable!
