Wanted: Syndicate near Durham

Hi All,
I have been going on guided stalks for 3 years now & have recently passed my DSC1. I live near Chester-le-Street and am hoping to secure a position on a syndicate somewhere up to an hour away from home. I’m not into shooting big numbers or for trophies. I enjoy time in nature and like to eat what i shoot so 6-12 deer taken in a year would be about all I could process. I would also like the opportunity to gain more experience in stalking alone so that I may go on to pass my DSC2.

If anyone knows of a syndicate position, or the possibility of opportunities in the area please PM me

Never any syndicates in Durham but good luck anyway. Best bet is the Borders which often come up.Good luck with Level 2

Thanks Foxhunter, I don’t suppose you know of anything in North Yorkshire as that would probably be closer than the boarders. You can get down to Scotch Corner in about 40min from where I am but the boarders tend to be 1.40-2hrs. I’ve heard Northumberland is generally hard to get into but I don’t know the situation in NY

North Yorkshire has a lot of shooting estates with the stalking sown up too. It's very difficult finding stalking in Durham and Northumberland too as a lot taken . Better off trying to join a small rough shoot and getting the stalking .There will be ground out there it's just finding it , I am also always on the lookout as ground comes and goes.

Definitely worth getting involved with a shoot. I visited a new permission about a week ago and parked up in a gateway to study the os map to find the most suitable parking spot. While checking the maps someone came up and knocked on the pickup window. He was a lad I know from a shoot. He was wondering who was about as it was down a private track. Anyway got chatting and explaining what I was doing and he said that I could shoot his farm as well. It's all about making contacts but you will be judged well before the discussion about stalking starts.
