Target shooting variation

Completed my probation with my club and I’ve loved shooting with them the practice and knowledge I’ve gained is invaluable.

I’m still learning every day is a school day 😂

With this variation change to my already open licence I was going to some additional riffle for future purchases.

.308 for target and deer stalking and sell my .243

.303 for target and deer stalking
.38/.357 target possible vermin

In your experiences does this look unreasonable or should I leave the .38/.357 out for a itch to scratch later

I got my 357 for vermin because I use it in thick woodland and the slower heavy bullet worked in brash better than super fast light bullets.
And it did work very well. 357m 003.webp

Yes I don’t necessarily want to fill the slots straight away.
But to have the option if I want to add one later on with out having to go through the whole variation and waiting again

why do you need the .303 for deer if you have a .308 for deer ? they may ask so have a good reason ready.
You're right, in that it's hard to show 'need' for things in this context.
However, as you say, he doesn't have to show a need for it - just a good reason. As member of a target-shooting club, the good reason for .357 and .303 might well be target-shooting. Having established that, the FLD is unlikely to have any good grounds not to allow it for appropriate quarry as well.

It doesn't sound unreasonable, however it sounds like you are uncertain what target shooting disciplines you wish to concentrate on or are of particular interest to you. What are the main activities of the rifle club that you have joined.

Not quite sure what you mean by "weapon system", are you military or ex-military? Civilian shooters usually avoid using the term weapon, it's non PC. :)

What I meant was the rifle and it’s functions
