Teckle

We have two from Keith. Both great, but the second is more biddable (show daddy rather than two full on worker parents i believe).

They also both like to pick up on the pheasant shoot. Giving it back is another matter, but certainly picking up. That's on a long line as they do like to 'explore' - see below.

Now it may also be my terrible training, but once the nose switches on the ears switch off.

They'll also block the door because they can't be arsed to move.

They are looking fab 😍 Thanks for taking great care of them

Allowed a teckel into my life for all the reasons the op states, wrote them all off except tracking very quickly. I wouldn't swap the little bastard for anything.

Choose your breeder carefully if you want to get close to that list and come back here in a couple of years to let us know how you got on.

Very nice type

Hi, mine is 4 years old now.
They told me, wait until 2 and they calm down they told me - nope
Than maybe 3 years old - nope
Now I just gave up hope.
He loooooves to hunt, no such thing as tiredness. He is a pain in the a...s to be held calmly next to you, stretch the lead all time, , do not care if nearly suffocated. He seats quitly if we have to wait or when the rifle is on the stick, but god if you made a shot, pack quickly because he is ready to go. Yet I love him to bits.

My wee one will stick by my side at work, double check that im following her, run round me in circels at home time say hurry up. Loves to be in the house and wants me in the same room come in the evening.
Out in the field i'm as good as forgotten if theres a good scent. Doesn't want to miss out on any chance of a hunt, loves to work the nose and that is good. Will hold live animals at bay. But if she slips that lead, hope to god that the tracker is charged and you have running shoes.

The highs and lows of a teckle owner

Things to add
The oldest little bastards now decided that when he’s in the pub , anyone is fair game , he now hates anyone who stands over him, or near him, or in the same ****ing hemisphere as him

He’s honestly now having to be left at home and the younger Teckel and the spaniel can socialise instead

They are murder , indefensible, horrible little ****s, That no one is allowed to say a bad word about

I’ve known two in my life. A guy at work had one called Nigel which was absolutely hard as nails. It kept getting ran over. It would lie up for a few days after the vet saw it then it would just get going again.

The other was one I used to see when I was out stalking. It would just be walking about a mile from its house. I called the number on his collar the first time and the owners weren’t at all worried about it. Just wandered off most days by all accounts. I don’t think it had much prey drive thank god.
