CAT5 cable is all good and fine, but if you want to, at least maintain most of the signal, your best bet would be to use either Coaxial Cable or Fiber Optics. A bit more expensive, but the returns are much better. CAT5 Cabling works best where there is little or no interference from the radiation of electrical lines and short distances. Coaxial Cable is less susceptible to outside interference and works good to about 100m. Fiber-Optics is the best, but you will have to pay much more. It is not susceptible to outside interference and has infinitely less reduction, in the line, due to distances. (I just retired, last year, from 22 years of this stuff.)

You get what you pay for.

Perhaps the dozer idea would be cheaper. ;-)

Also, don't forget, you are running a line from a BT signal - best of luck.
