THAC bullet availability?

Does anyone know what’s going on with THAC bullets? I hear great things about them from people who’s opinions are worth trusting but getting hold of them seems to be more of a myth!

I got in contact with the uk business page in April and was assured the distribution issues had been resolved and the bullets I want are on the next shipment etc…. fast forward to now and I cannot get a reply from thac, the most local stockist have been invoiced by thac for their outstanding delivery but nothing has arrived yet and all the other shops that I have tried are all in the same boat awaiting their orders.

I was hoping to use these to avoid the hit and miss supply that Barnes suffer with from time to time!

I’ve got a couple of barrels arriving shortly and I’m really keen to get some stock ready for loading and testing, before I do go down the Barnes route, has anyone got a better idea of what’s actually going on with the THAC supply in the uk?

Thanks
George

Watching this thread with interest!

Spoke to Foxhole Country Persuits today, who have good stock. They just had an issue where nothing was showing on their website.

Very pleased to hear today that stock is getting delivered to shops over the next few days at long last!

Looking to use them in a .280 ackley and a 6.5x47 lap

If they are as good as expected, I do hope that we can get a steady supply 🤞🏻

From speaking to Northallerton Shooting supplies, future supply should not be an issue. The manufacturer appears to have invested significant time, resource and money in ensuring a reliable supply chain moving forward.

The point I was pleased to hear reinforced was that these do not have any of the hallmarks of a manufacturer that will burn bright then fade away.

For reference

There's 6mm and 270 in store just not showing on the site

I called up and the staff checked and there was some there so get on the phone or wait to Monday when they are online

95 quid for 100 6mm 80gr
110 for the ,270

Basically foxholes have had to sort out the ongoing customs issues for the UK importer by the sounds of it

That's what happens when you work in imperial 😉😅

The measurement choice of champions! It broke my heart applying for a metric caliber in 6.5x47 😆

Forest lodge guns have stock of most calibers now, I had some 160gr .284 arrive yesterday and have had a good look at them this morning.

It must be said that I am extremely impressed with their overall quality control so far, I weighed 10 random bullets and they differed by 0.32gr with 8 of them being within 0.08 gr, not a particularly useful bit of data and it certainly won’t affect most of us stalkers but nice to know that they are well engineered and consistent, in comparison with other lead and non-lead bullets I have batch weighed before, these are the most weight consistent.

I have read that they aren’t particularly fussy on seating depth / jump which may be a useful trait with them being quite a long bullet

Looking forward to trying them in .280 ackley this coming fallow season

I received mine in 122gr 6.5mm today.
I had to create a bullet profile for them on GRT as that no longer gets updated.

Didn't take long though and I have some load data to start testing with.

They are certainly a slippery looking bullet. Can't wait to try them to be honest and see how they compare to Barnes LRXs

A good friend of mine shoots a .280ai. Once you've landed on a good load, if you'd message me the details I'd really appreciate it.

Be interested to see what you think of them Colin .

I'll be at the range on Friday coming
I'll update once I've done the initial load development

Done a fox with one @ just over 200m . Certainly Taught it some manners 😂

Not had a lot of spare time lately and all the deer i have shot recently have been muntys , and the 22-250 sorts those out very well .
