Thank God they told me...

For reasons that escape me, I recently had occasion to break out the S1 Shotgun.

A ten-shot Benelli (thanks for asking).

It has been a while (as my FEO recently 'reminded' me - and there is the reason that escaped me)...so she (the gun not the FEO) had a day out, at the 50 yard range. More fun than I remember, and worth the effort to reacquaint our relationship...

Cleary a wee bit rusty.

When I took the old girl home, to carry out the obligatory strip-down (the shotgun - but if it makes you happy - you knock yourself out!).

I found that I was lacking a choke removal key.

Fun fact.

A 1936, old One Penny piece does the job...but that is really not the way to do things.

So I sell (yet another) kidney, and about two weeks later, the 'correct' tool for the job is thrown over my gate.

I can see that is has been 'engraved'; and I presume it will be the maker's name, or some other such mark of its value or heritage.

No.

It has come from the USA.

The land of litigation.

It says, and I sh*t you not...

"Warning" Remove before firing.

Well I guess someone in the past failed to do so...

Hm I have a H&R break barrel slug gun with a rifled barrel that I am yet to shoot that I bought new back in 1994 for a Michigan hunt but I did not see any deer. Open sights and it is not drilled and tapped for a scope mounting system.

Good to hear from you again.
I just can't believe you still carry that old penny around you tight .......er you.
😘

I think your original heading is very apt for a person such as yourself, goodness knows what would have happened if you hadn’t read the engraved warning.

The sainted M2 in ten shot…my biggest regret in selling mine, although I have no good reason to have one, I still want her back, like a long lost first love❤️
