THE BOW HUNTER

I have no limited to heads primers empty cases just loaded rounds 1200 each
The maximum rounds was set by myself not the FLO . I used to hold 3k each of 9x19 9x25 45acp 9mm 38/357 as was a ipsc/ukpsa competitor. Plus 3k of 7.62 and 223 /and 1k of ss109 556 milspec as I used to do highpower and practically rifle.
I've never been told I could only hold xyz .

I have to agree, I set my limits, generally hold 300 for each centre fire and purchase 100 ,for my hunting rounds, pistol and rimfire were 5000 each, reloads were 600 I think.

Hi Tim. You seem to do a fair job of being a functional moron, so congrats at that. Keep up the good work.

One of the pillars of hunting regulation in NZ (and the UK, oddly enough) is the consent of the landowner - or the holder of the Sporting Rights in Britland.
In New Zealand some 35% of the country (that is 61% of England's total area) is public land. Keeping up so far, Tim? This land is administered on behalf of New Zealanders by the Department of Conservation (DOC), who issue as of right a hunting permit to anyone who wishes to hunt this land, and has a firearms license (or not, if they wish to use a bow instead). So yes, hunting with bows is fine here.

Hunting with pistols is not legal, but club use is an accepted past time - firearms users aren't regarded as evil incarnate (or at least adjacent) here yet. Maybe the importation of more cops from your fair islands will change that, but we'll see.

I don't get your obsession with your proximity to a game dealer, but if it makes you happy then good on you. There are still plenty of guys full time hunting here if you want to make money out of a sport or regard that as the measure of its quality somehow.
Carry on with what and how you do (as you should) however the facts are as I have said all along replying to UK SD members is they have had lots of time to try and resolve this but just complain.
You can type all the % areas you like but come here for a hunting/stalking trip and you will in the same boat as us all.
Post an offer to the membership and they can experience it first hand :coat:

Its rather sad so many SD members are aggressively unsupportive of bow hunting and speak disparagingly of those who derive great enjoyment from use of a bow. It's as if they choose to discount how their hunting career may have started 50 or more years ago and the thrill that was dropping their first squirrel with a green-eyed marble & Milbro catapult.

This is just a" . " to pages and pages of replies (many removed) to SD's BASC rep over the lead ban Richard with it still rumbling on:eek:
Keep lead is what I say.

What is disappointing Richard is the lack of support for the Australian shooters who are being targeted by their Government over gun ownership with still a sliver of the Union Jack in their Flags. :british:

The problem is people always want what they can’t have just like children.

As adults we all have a legal vote to allocate a government, now all you lot bitching and winging fail to acknowledge that pistols, bow hunting and all the good stuff has been banned for a reason.

The best thing to do is pull your big boy pants up and do something about it if you want to use banned hunting practices.

If you’re not going to do that poke up and shut up!

So far all I’ve read is 6 pages of drivel!

I don't think it was the pro archery members that started the drivel, in fact they, we, were pointing out how ethical it really is and how it would be safer in certain situations and, drum roll....it's lead free! Arguably cheaper too.

If I remember correctly their was a hunting with archery British web site but it didn't lobby I believe because it knew with how the British are about killing animals it wouldn't get anywhere.

There are a lot of defeated people in the UK. You yourself have voiced disdain towards the lead ban. You have said yourself how it is anti hunting thing, which is correct.
Britain is a nation of moaners, it's all they have left, they have given up on voting, check the turn out stats.
Do you think your vote made any difference over your life time?

That might be true, but state something I’ve said that’s not true or not fact?
Also Lee all their deer were imported
2 from 6 for us with Fallow since the Normans brought them back.
We should send them some Muntjac aka "where the #uck are they"

No, deer are not native to New Zealand. All wild populations are the descendants of species introduced from Europe and North America between the 1850s and early 1900s by acclimatization societies aiming to replicate European hunting.

I’m just gonna plant a seed of thought, but if everybody stopped posting their activities on the SD and social media, then there’s a lot of people who wouldn’t know what the bloody hell you’re up to!

I'm not aware of anyone posting anything illegal here. Have I missed something?

I think that the big game hunting section of this site should be renamed "Hunting Overseas" or "Hunting Abroad", which would provide a suitable forum for the discussion of hunting practices, such as bow hunting, that aren't permitted in the UK but which some members nevertheless enjoy when they travel.
There's a lot more to hunting overseas than just big game, I should imagine. Big game could be a sub- forum within the section.
@Charlie?
