The out yesterday or today thread and...

Lady FB out for dinner so responded to an urgent request for rabbit control last night. Took the Stutzen CZ .22 and a box of CCI subs; managed to forget the 5 shot magazine but that’s another long story. Saved (almost) by having an old metal 9 shot mag stowed in the comb-raiser pocket. Despite a very frustrating repeated non-cycling of the old mag the wee rifle fitted with the Zulus V1 gave me some great sport…

Winged the first one but seconds later…

Shots taken from 33 out to 118 yards and the wee rifle/Zulus/CCI combination was brilliant

wish I could say the same for the sodding magazine…

Was the dog with you?
Good shooting.

A couple of the farms I shoot on silaged last week worth a look for corvids Sat morning.

Farm 1 didnt have the numbers worth setting up so set up on the second farm for about 3 hours. Slow and steady but managed a mixed bag of 25.

If anyone wants to be funny and point out that there are only 23 in the pic...well one ended up in the top of a hedge and the other dropped about 70 yards away over the other side of the lane :) 😛 And also the farm is in England and not Wales so fine on the rooks 👍

The birds should be facing the other way though 🤣🤣

This was nice too watch, also probably makes me a little more considerate about shooting foxes in this area for a few more weeks.

Not an expert in foxes by any means how long until these guys are "mini" adult foxes?

Edit: might need too open this up fully on YT too see the cubs.

I couldnt really see much in your vid but I have seen cubs between 8-10 weeks old ripping the hell out of chickens so very self sufficient and small enough to get places mum and dad cant.

We have just had some small but very very independent cubs - i shot one - tiny thing . It was eating a squirrel i put out as bait - it had shredded it in seconds

Shot 4 a few years back in a chicken pen...half dead chickens everywhere as the cubs hadnt worked out how to kill them properly..
