That’s nothing Smelly - out stalking squelching in Perthshire and Fife Saturday to Thursday and it poured every day. Then the ferry was cancelled for 24 hrs because of wind (and rain)…

Yep plus 130gns of Sierra TGC and a dollop of N160 - heap mighty deer medicine…… when they eventually came out of their day-long sheltering from the rain of course.
Tad disappointed that the Zulus RF and thus the BC didn’t work in thick air/mizzly rain but reassured that neither did my two pal’s very expensive bins.
Still, every day a skool day…

Yep LRF doesn't work in misty/ foggy conditions.

No laser works well in wet atmosphere. That's why you don't see camera vans out on days like we are having.

Well I got out for a few hours but only got onto a couple of bucks so no joy.

Forecast wrong as rain never came.

Had a 3030 day. Not for deer, just small game.
4 squirrels got to nibble on a different nut today. 180gn Sako bullets with a pinch of alliant unique behind them.
Didn't get a shot at a rabbit after a good stalk but did find 6 buck fallow.
They weren't bothered at all me squealing for fox which never showed but it was good to hear one buck grunting like a pig and then two started pushing each other about while the rest watched.


The 180gn bullets are very lobby at near supersonic speed. I think they are from the 1970's!

Don't remember. Think I shot 30 odd once.

#14 Had to get out. Took a shotgun. Hissing down. Found a vixen in a corner of a field. Snook down the hedge for a 25yd shot.
Vixens still seem to be in season!

Up side of a very wet week was:-
1. Ferry cancellation meant unplanned night in Portpatrick Hotel - excellent and their malts now need replenished; and
2. Thanks to Google I found this little treasure - Glenluce Gunroom - great store and a very helpful chap running it
