Absolutely mate.
I’ve a tonne and half of wheat left and 3/4 tonne of indate pellets to keep them going until the landscape renews and they can survive unaided. Would be very nice to see a few broods knocking about and upping predator game again from Monday once duties are done.
Got a decent amount of snipe, curlew on the top flats and want to do as much as possible to support them and all ground nesters.
It was a big thing for me in regards to accepting this position. And that it wasn’t season and done. And we respect those birds that have survived the gauntlet of the guns and see them through.

Try and feed them all year mate - just keep off feeder topped up and you will be amazed at the broods if you van manage the predators too

Well the wheat should last me 8 weeks plus on 4 feeders filled twice a week. The pellets should do another 4. So should be into May by then. But I’ll eke it out as-long as possible.
Have bird feeders and fat balls out too. Made some squirrel peanut feeders out of metal cigarette bins that I acquired, that have some nice 1/2 inch thick steel as back plates. Which is handy! So they’ll get knocked back hard this year.

Awesome mate

You want to get better fitting shorts then!

Dead easy to make if you’re tight. I have the pub keep their roast drippings for me. Powered oats and toss some other tit bits in and mix. Semi freeze it and mould. Drop them into the onion net bags the missus insists on buying and string them and hang.
Job done and raw energy for my feathered friends

if funds are short try using tailings, they are usually free, I've got 4 ton bags left to feed into next year.

Well, that was a lovely way to finish the season off, we were light on guns and beaters but that didn’t stop up reaching my target of 25, we had one lad with us today who had never picked up a shotgun and he shot his first flying chicken, elevenses was fully out of control with soup, a full ham, brisket and some of the best lemon cake I’ve eaten, we are not far off shooting half of what we put down so I’m really pleased with that and the comments from the members after the day were mainly that it’s been the best season they’ve ever had there, overall I’m very happy with how it’s gone but I’m definitely looking forward to a break from the place and getting back out doing the shooting I enjoy 👍IMG_4076.webpIMG_4077.webpIMG_4079.webpIMG_4081.webpIMG_4080.webp

My phone hasn’t stopped all week, people moaning about foxes, roe and hares so I’ll get on it this week, found an outlet for the hares and a few roe so that makes me feel better about clearing a few up 👍
Always good if you’ve got an outlet Mate, Have a good week🤞🤞🤞👍
