That’s a pity as debate is somewhat lively but here is just one point of view that I’m sure SD members will recognise even if they don’t agree and would prefer a “Life On Mars” where it’s fine to grope the office typist in the Photocopying Room after a liquid lunch!

What you are missing is the bigger picture RA .Ban something trivial and give the opponents a lift and what’s next ,firearms ,hunting ,fishing ,laughter ,having any sort of craic involving girls with your mates ffs .
Its probably not even women trying to ban it ,it’s shirt sleeves who think women should be offended .
Are we aiming for a sterile ,stereotypical man who actually cares about others feeling ffs or should we give them the choice to act a **** or not .
Tell me honestly mate how a women , real red blooded women not a feminist trouser wearing freak can possibly be offended by a wolf whistle beyond mild embarrassment .Offensive language is another thing altogether but let’s be real here without the drama .
Ive never seen or heard of a women or bloke offended by innocent banter .

Perhaps a better idea might be to introduce licensing for wolf whistling?
AOLQ, clearing the ground, requiring good reason, submitting variations…..just lift and shift the legislation and Bob’s your uncle!

I don’t even know what WOKE stands for but if its the being offended by things otherwise non offensive then indeed you are woke my friend .Not much offends me bar those who feel offended by insignificant issues .

While not defending fenismim or wokeism far from it, if the shoe was on the other foot and you were a lady (a proper one not dressed like a whore) if you had some ugly fat builder or whatever whistle at you I am sure you would be feeling very uncomfortable. If you are single and feel attracted to a woman then there is a whole lot better ways to try and win her over than whistle to her as if she were a dog.

Women's safety is paramount I think we all agree on that point........ on the whole a fat sweaty bricky "offending or complementing" which ever way you choose to see it, is probably not going to be the bloke that stalks and attacks a women.
More likely to be the odd bod who still lives at home with his mum and dresses up in his favourite star treck alien outfit while knocking one out to the kiddies underwear section in kays catalogue. Or possibly a non native living here illegally and spikes drinks who's cultural practices are very different from our own. My daughters best friend was the victim of just such an attack while returning to her student halls after a night out.
No amount of law changing will deter these scum. Focusing efforts and managing budgets to allow and support better policing to make the streets safer would seem to be a much better economy of effort rather than pandering to a minority of who you will never please.
