Good evening all.

Following my last thread on here about my local poor head quality.

There is DEFINITELY nothing wrong with fertility on my site. Unsure if its just pot luck.. or more common than id think.

But in the last week alone on 2 spots of my site i have counted 8 sets of twins born.
I originally thought does with young were quite solitary and independent. But here we had 4 does together in one field ,all with twins. Another 2 does in another field both with pairs qnd then 2 on there own. But not far apart. Again ,both with twins.
Unsure if its just due to the nature of my site (a busy working quarry) or if this was common for them to group up. Also how common are twins?
Fully aware the chance of both twins making it in all 8 does is unlikley. But i found it great to see such a bumper crop of young.

If this is roe, twins are the default setting. It’s very rare for them to give birth to singletons.

What you’re describing in terms of that many does together in a field at this time of year is odd. And does indicate quite serious over population.
