After the general zeitgeist on a situation that arose on Friday.
A good friend had been out for a meal and upon her return home at 11.30pm got a knock at the door. Six of Surreys burly constables then forced their way into her house and started demanding she identify herself and everyone else in the house without ANY explanation. She has two boys, 12 and 10 and they were woken up with the ten year old becoming quite distressed at this commotion.
No warrant was produced, no explanation was given and through rather oppressive questioning it became clear they were looking for the previous owner who sold the house 11 years ago and is currently DEAD!
When they finally realised they had cocked right up there was no apology they just left muttering about the deceased suspect’s daughters address.
My question is under what law did the do this and what sort of recourse does she have to complain to Surrey Police (Letter to the CC in the first instance) and the Surrey PCC?
