Thousands of Trees for the Future.

A chap I know has one 30 acre field left which is too small for arable so planting trees is what he decided on, 10 types so he said.
I made 4 high seats 2 freestanding 2 lean2's the plan is to concentrate on the woodland area then stalk in to suit the wind.
Trial fit of one in the video (hence no front rail) @paul o' has put his hand up to take this block on as he also knows the owner very well.
Being left handed my test set up will need a re jig to suit kack handed Paul :)
No big deer at the moment but I have shot a few not far as the crow flies.

I've started advising any tree planting I'm involved with that the first thing done is to mark out highest positions with safe avenues and most importantly use of safe backstops. Then plant the trees to suit that.
It's great for the landowner because it makes protecting the trees easier and if they have to sell the stalking rights in the future because of grant money drying up it will make it easier to sell the rights.

As they say build it and they will come.
Any decent rides in the planting layout for future management when the trees grow.

Without planning of shootable avenues that are cut every year it will be surprising how quickly that will become unshootable and then become a place of safety for deer.
There is a 10 year plan in place to maintain the area, after that we will be too old lol
Are you making your seats or buying them in?

I buy them now for insurance reasons. I'm phasing out all my made seats but it's going to take a while I have the best part of 60 seats.

Who makes those high seats ?

They look like they rely on ladders for quick assembly- looks like a good robust design.

Looks like a nice bit of ground over time 👍

why hasn't the land owner fitted deer fencing?

Is anyone controlling the squirrels ?

Using the inside of the ladders also close to a rung the 25x25x3 box fits neatly inside.
Which in principle is the same as most high seats with the ladders fitting together and in a piece of box to the basket.
