Thread patterns, brain teaser.

Has anyone come across " Tipton " bronze bore brushes?? The male thread is not compatible with standard shot gun cleaning rods. The Tipton has an outside diameter of .306 in and a standard brush is .284 in , both appear to have 26 TPI. Now , is there an adaptor available or must I buy a Tipton cleaning rod to fit these brush. Any advise would be appreciated, cheers Neil

M8 maybe. 1mm pitch

Tipton uses the same threads as Dewey, Proshot etc. On the 12GA brushes this is 5/16-27. It's a standard.
Unfortunately European makers have their own threads which do not live up to any sort of standard at all. A complete mess.

Very many thanks , I knew someone would know. The thread gauge was indicating 26 or 27 TPI , brilliant result may be able to put together an adaptor. Cheers Neil
