Tick Spray & wash in products

I think spraying clothes with permetrin is way effective than wasting repellents on tissues. Permetrin else if 2% diluted destroys insect's neural system and rend ticks kike zombies I found one on myself nearly dead and not able biting. And permethrin lats some.
weeks 3 or 4 on clothes whilst is neutralized from sweep. a good compound is french Nobite studied for tissues. Or you van look at pre impregnated gaiter's like us Lyme'z that acts like a real traps for tiks. my 2 cents
in short permetrin on clothes icaridin or deet on Yourself

You can also do a lot my modifying your behaviour:

1) avoid bracken if you possibly can. Ditto long grass.

2) sit down on a log or a rock, not on the grass

3) when it gets to peak tick season use a high seat, rather than trying to stalk

4) concentrate the cull to the winter time

Have practised 4) for many years, I’m not a summer stalker, hate getting bitten, sweating like a para doing a maths test, early mornings &/or late nights etc.

Seems to be good stuff,.difficult to compare with clothes not sprayed.. Sprayed all.my shooing related clothes with it including hat and scrim netting. And all for £3 a bottle from.closing down sale. Still.have 3 in stock. Also used Picardin spray for a elt and braces approach..

I use the bushwear wash in and have just picked about 6 micro ticks off my legs after a crawl through grass this morning.

Will probably get Rovince for West Country stalking

Just got back from the islands of Lewis and Harris and the Icaridin was fantastic. Not one bite from anything on me or the Mrs. Icaridin is now referred to in our house as "The Good Stuff". Sister and brother in law were using Smidge and got eaten alive.

Thank you @caorach !

No I just used the big bottle it came in. Left it in the house or car and put it on before I went out. Seemed to last all morning then put more on after lunch and that was fine for the rest of the day. I can see how small bottles would be handy to leave in different places, might have to get some and decant as you say.

When working in Sub Sahara Africa, our clothes were washed with permethrin every cycle and we used Picaridin on our skin. This combination proved very effective. Deet was initially available, but subsequently removed due to health issues and the damage it caused to anything plastic. I didn't feel under-protected at any time. Our activities took us out into the bush during the night in areas of heavy mosquito vector so we were very exposed to bites. We were of course, all on a course of chemoprophylaxis, but this in itself, will not prevent bites. I use the same combination here in the UK on 2 x ranges I shoot on. Both of these ranges support high numbers of ticks / horseflies and I haven't been bitten yet. Knowledge and preparation goes a long way ...

I've been a bit "off grid" for a while but am so glad it worked for you. Icaridin is the active ingredient in Smidge so I can't explain the difference in performance but there is no question that, until they get in your eyes and nose to the point you can't blink or breathe, the Icaridin is extremely effective. I had a calm day on Lewis last week and the Icaridin was great but eventually I had to go to the headnet as I was choking on them and they were getting in my eyes and the repellent can't deal with that. Having and effective repellent reduced the amount of time i needed to wear the headnet to less than an hour of the whole day which was great.

I've been offline for a while Paul but saw your post. I'm still decanting into a small spray bottle. I've bought various small bottles over the years but I found the link for these ones that I bought from Amazon - they aren't fancy and they are a bit brittle if you really thump them but I haven't actually managed to burst one and they spray the Icaridin just fine which is the priority

Pretty much I picked them at random and I'm not saying they are the best thing out there, but they work for me.

Deerhunter anti tick trouser are brilliant, much more comfortable than Rovince!
