Tikka t3 or Sako A7

My two local gun shops are rather useful as one has the t3x package and one the a7.
The T3X is a blued barrel lite has a burris 4x scope an atec moderator and a bipod and comes in at £2200, the A7 is a roughtec stock stainless barrel same burris 4x scope and a wildcat moderator and comes in at £1650.
I dont class myself as any kind of expert on pricing but i feel he has the T3X WAY over priced. I also from first feel preferred the Sako but standing in a gun shop throwing a gun around is never quite the same as actually using it.

As a package, that is a bit over the money imho unless the bipod is £600 worth which I very much doubt. You can buy a T3x lite, fitted with Burris 4x (3-12x56) scope and mounts plus mod for about £1600 depending on where you buy the scope and mod from as these scopes tend to vary by as much as £200 or more for the same model depending on where you buy from. Countryman of Derby are currently stocking those at £345! If you shop around, there's not a lot to chose between them but I do see now that Tikka have introduced more models for the UK which look superb:

I agree you are talking about a £1000 rifle £350 scope and a £200 mod at the most on the Tikka package.
I would buy the rifle (Tikka in my opinion), get yourself a DPT or similar mod and then get on the classifieds on here to find some medium quality or better secondhand glass. I reckon you will end up with a better quality package with much better glass and you will have the satisfaction of having built it yourself. There are some decent skills to be learnt in doing this as well. All of which are easy to learn from someone or YouTube if desperate.
Everyone I know who has purchased a Tikka package has ended up swapping the Burris scope for something better very quickly and only getting about £150 for it PX.

I suffered the same dilemma myself not so long ago.
I opted for the T3X, S&B 8x56 and Stalon Mod, for around £1800.
I'm really pleased with my decision and haven't looked back.
Good luck!

Interesting reading this as I'm looking at changing my tikka t3x for the new Sako S20
