Tikka t3x 22.250 barrel knackered

As others have said, a round clipping the mod or a bad scope scope mount would do this but a bad crown maybe but unlikely.
Field sports Britain did a test and chopped off a barrel with an angle grinder and at 45 degrees, it made a difference but not to 6 inches.
There's something else a miss.

Thank you very much for your comment if I’m honest I can’t believe no ones picked up on the crown being damaged including myself before this thread. Also People push patches in from the end of the barrel? 😬 Ill get it sent to a gunsmith and hopefully he confirms what you say and he recrowns it
I've even heard of crown damage being caused by reversing a bronze brush back through the barrel. The switch of direction and/or scrubbing motion causes a wear ring on the edge of the crown.

I’ve own and still do a tikka T3 in .223 and .204, both of which I’ve owned for 15 years… Both still shoot now as the day I bought them, and have put thousands of rounds down each barrel.. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Tikka rifles as anything other than accurate and reliable. I only use nylon brushes, Tipton Jags and decent Tipton cleaning rods. Never stored with moderators fitted. Now soon to be the proud owner of my third Tikka T3 Tac A1, again, all flawlessly accurate out of the box with load developement.

For this reason, I’d never buy a second hand rifle with the alleged or stated, only had 100 rounds through it, unless it was going incredibly cheap and was prepared to rebarrel.

One thing I have not seen asked is, are the groups in a consistent place or all over the paper? 500 shots should not ruin a barrel, my guess is something is now vibrating. Were I a conspiracy nut I might be inclined to think all Tika are cursed. I would run a few no more than say ten patches with JB Compound after inspecting all the mating surfaces.
