Time to spoil myself…..

Well then, being of a certain age vintage (think Baby Boomer - pause for howls of abuse and derision from those SD types under 50) and constantly hearing a scythe being sharpened by an oul fella with a very long beard, I think it high time I really did spoil myself. The problem is that with 50 plus years of wasted time shooting behind me and amassing enough shooting-related accoutrements to stock a medium-sized Cabellas, for the life of me I just cannot think of what to buy myself!
There are those of course who would say that I have been doing the spoiling thing ever since I started shooting, fishing, sailing and, ahem, golfing (I know, I know) but that is clearly an exaggeration - largely put about by the current Mrs FB.
Sooo chaps - what’s a boy to do?

ps
Forget the Thailand trip etc….

1) Orient Express.....
2) Amhuinnsuidhe Castle , for a week and maybe a MacNab
3) First prize in the monthly supporters draw

1) Never going to happen for me.
2) Up there in October for that very reason!
3) Let's not go there shall we...

Well I'm a bit older than your good self. Have more than enough rifles, fishing gear. NOT golfing equipment......That's a good walk ruined.

However I am a bit of a Petrol head. So as my birthday has recently gone by I decided to change my current car for something else slightly more faster.
Jaguar Ftype.
Luv it

Whatever makes you smile mate, long time dead and memories might be what counts not necessarily ’stuff’?

The above does not necessarily exclude Thailand etc. I will not forget the lass who could blow smoke rings 😁

So many ways to have a mid life crisis.

There's Malcs way, fast car/motorbike. Done by many. Certainly makes you feel young and reckless again for a while.

There's the one where you swap the wife out for a newer model, but you will end up giving your house away, possibly loose your FA licence and the new shiny young one may not be new and shiny for long.

You could go and do something adventurous. I trained for 3 years and did an Ironman. Kept me out of the house, got me fit and didn't have time for #2. Cheapest option.

Too many options to list. I hope you find one that pushes all the right buttons.

Buy yourself a memory. No one can take those from you. Go somewhere you've always wanted to go, while you still can.

Go down under and pay a visit to our Johnno and shoot a sambar. Or maybe over to Canada and have a dram with Alberta boy and get yourself a nice bearskin hat.

Go and see the Norwegian fjords and catch yourself a monster cod. See the northern lights in Iceland.

Or rent yourself a private island in the Hebrides for as long as you can afford. No phone, no computer, no Joe public. Just peace to contemplate life, the universe and everything.

Those are just a selection of what would appeal to me. Basically buy an experience you'll never forget.

Life is not complete without a classic car, they are a solid investment too. That is as long as your dream classic isn’t an Austin princess or the like!!!

Nothing like the smell of leather in a classic car interior nearly as good as the interior of a seasoned leather gralloching knife sheath.
