Looking to change a Picatinny rail later today. The new rail is Tier One with a recommended max torque of 14 in-lbs. If I use a little Loctite Blue on the screws am I in the right ball park reducing torque to 11 in-lbs (approx 20% reduction)?
I take it you’re factoring in the lubricating effect of the blue loctite when wet on installation? If it’s any consolation I’ve torqued mine to 14 in-lbs with no adverse effects (that I can visually inspect anyway).
When I fitted the rail I nipped it up tight with a screwdriver and my hand. Fitted the scope and went out to shoot it. No need to worry unless it’s loose.
