Heard some people are using Apple tracking device for dogs. Obviously not a Garmin/ Sportstec but May be handy
Has anyone any experience of them & which work best for dogs? I believe they are fir keys etc. Farmers sticking on quads I understand

Cheers

Exactly the same concept as a Tile tracker, in that it relies on Bluetooth connection to a phone, to effectively use the phone's location. It isn't its own GPS module. The huge benefit here is battery life.

That said, it wins over something like Tile because Tile can only use other people's phones if they are also Tile users. Apple wins here because ANY other apple device can see the keyring and update it's location to the world. That's a huge deal because the likelihood of it being picked up by another apple user is a lot higher than it being picked up by another Tile user.

I am an android user, so don't use the Apple AirTag, but I do have a Tile on my daughter's teddy bear. It works pretty well in that I can track it and make it make a noise. I imagine the Apple one is far better though and I'd use it in a heartbeat on my dog if I could.

I use “tractive” it’s a subscription but £40 for unit and £120 2 years subscription’s a bargain you can set virtual fenc’s up so it saves bat life and if the dog leaves it you get a notification.
dog got off and smashed it in bits they sent me another FOC there idiot proof to use and you can share app access with anyone battery last 6/7 days we love it. Iv been all over top of Scotland in the middle of nowhere and it’s always worked.
