What are folks using please ? I have a Dogtran Sportec system for the wire and it’s great, however they don’t do a mini collar apparently

Anyone know of a compatible collar or a system for a Teckel that’s ok for 1/2 mile etc ?

Any help appreciated

Just to clarify here. The Teckel tracks deer on a lead and at 12 months has done really well I use her beating and she has been spot on, my issue is she has put her nose down on fox and gone, I do like a good old ratch about in the fells, so when the inevitable happens, would like to get her back

Is there no way you can get the locater off the collar and put it on another smaller collar or get a jacket made with a pocket to fit the collar and unit in.
Plenty of dog handlers in Europe use this system

Thanks for the feedback. I have used Primoz for a few bits. Top bloke The actual workings of the transmitter collar are massive on the wee dog, so perhaps a light jacket may work 👍

How did you upgrad your maps?

This is your man for dog jackets
I beg to differ @pendle. I bought a Teckel jacket from Primoz and 2 collars. One of the collars was way too big to use and in use, I found that the exposed Garmin battery on the back of Primoz's Teckel jacket snagged on brambles and fern stems in use, stopping the Teckel in its tracks. The exposed buckles were less prone to snagging but on occasion they did too. It got so bad on a week's hard stalking up on Arran that I had to take the jacket off and the Teckel was "naked" for the rest of the week - thankfully, he didn't "go off on one". I've latterly been using (18 months) KarDog jackets from Finland - Deer Tracking Services directly sell one of KarDog's jackets over here under their name. These have the collar tracker in a zipped pouch and this doesn't snag - if you look at the front of both of my Teckel's jacket (a PU orange/yellow one for Winter and an orange mesh for Summer) you can see that they are quite abraded and in use, take quite a hammering as the Teckel tries to go under stuff.

Good to know of another supplier

Garmin t20f, bit bulkier than some but doesn't bother him.
A mate has started using the Weenect sim card system from decathlon, (not sure if u got in UK yet). Very small/light and works perfectly if you're in an area with phone network

I use Tractive trackers for my Borders. Work well but do sometimes loose the network, but I guess they would pop back up once they get coverage if the worst happened.
