Due to our present Trainee Stalker moving on to arespectable position within the industry, at the end of his training, we have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and hard-working person to join our established team on a traditional Highland estate.
The successful applicant will be trained in all aspects of upland gamekeeping and deer management, working over the estate’s 20,000acres of mixed hill and forestry. You will work as part of a team, reporting to the Head Keeper and work alongside our Under Keeper and another Trainee Keeper in a remote but welcoming estate community.
The position is tied with the National Certificate in Gamekeeping (online / part time study) with North Highland College, and the successful candidate will be given time to study and attend college where required.
Duties / experience given will include;
• Working, training and caring for traditional highland ponies
• Open hill and woodland deer management and stalking
• Producing grouse to shot over pointers
• River and loch fishing for salmon and trout
• Habitat improvement & predator control
• Estate maintenance and management work
• Use and maintenance of plant and agricultural machinery
Ideally candidates will have a Full UK Driving License, shotgun and firearm certificates and First Aid training. An excellent remuneration package including additional training and shared accommodation is provided.
