Hi, Just checking if anyone use this Trico deer repellent and what was the outcome? Did it work?
It was brought up in a forestry meeting sometime ago, just thought I’d ask the question, would be used on new plantations. And open under planting.

Thanks

Not first hand, but I do know people who have to fairly good effect. Doubt it is a cure-all, but it was certainly reported to be a deterrent.

What’s the active ingredient? And at what strength? That’s what really counts and informs where you put it, for example 100% DEET is really effective-but O wouldn’t put it on bare skin.

Not sure why you'd want to put a deer repellent on your skin? It would normally be applied to trees and shrubs.

It's made from sheep fat primarily, so perhaps it is dual purpose and good rubbed on your chest to ward off a stinking cold, or if you're planning on swimming in artic waters (i.e. this country)?

Used it in various trials but doesn’t seem to have much effect on the west coast of Scotland. Problem we have is getting dry weather to apply it or else it just washes straight off the tree. Also needed pretty regular reapplication to have any noticeable impact on browsing.
