Bushwear or make you own ,sometimes good to think out of the box a thin slice from a log cut at an angle rather than straight across if you get my drift, leave the bark on makes a really nice rustic shield birch being my personal choice, though cherry is also nice, and many others I'm sure.

Just done this with some blackthorn, sanded and oiled looks great although even though not cut in the round I should have used more of an angle because they have split when dried. To be honest though adds to the rustic character

+1 for Askari litterally a 10th the price of bushwear and a better range.

A quick search on Ebay under 'trophy shield wooden plaque' brings up a whole range of cost effective options, £6-7 for some of the roe sized shields which is less than half the price of Bushwear. I recently bought some for £7 which included P&P (PERFECT TM LTD) and have been been impressed - solid oak and well manufactured.
