Anyone in the Tvp area.was wondering what the earliest and the latest you can put your renewal in
Thanks in advance

When I was under them, they recommended six months to have it done on time (2017), the norm in other areas used to be 14 weeks but this was pre med check, make sure you have all the paperwork in before 8 weeks from expiry, that way you should get an automatic extension and continue shooting, leave it after that point and expect to pay for rfd storage

mine was sent in 6 months before renwal but i still had to have an 8 week extention before it actually arrived . not the best service !

I submitted my renewal about 5 months before expiry (last year) via the TVP online forms.
Remember to save a PDF copy of the completed form and any accompanying documentation. When the guy came to do the home visit, he didn't have everything with him, so good job I did.

Also, if you have acquired or disposed of anything previously, its helpful to have kept copies of the notification you should have sent them at the time. Too late if you haven't, and hopefully you wont need them.
During my home visit they checked my firearms etc. and then asked where a certain one was. I had sold it about 18months previous and notified them via their online system as requested. They said their records didn't show anything, but I produced a copy of the notification I submitted on their online system which kept them happy.
This isnt the first time they have lost a notification from me.

Hmm, different guidelines for different forces......
I actually called them first to ask as I knew they were taking a long time to process. I was told to submit as soon as I had everything ready including the medical proforma (which had to be within 6 months)
