a mate of mine told me to remove the O rings before cleaning it
is this right?
why?
also what is the best thing to use in the tank as a cleaner
the same mate has said white vinegar and dist water with a tiny bit of fairy liquid

Check with the manufacturer.

I was told by the maker of my Lawrence Precision titanium one that it would damage it irreparably. He didn’t say why when I asked, and the only thing I could find on the internet was the possibility of Hydrogen embrittlement.

Ask the manufacturer.

I clean my Evo ultrasonically but never use acidic cleaners as they eat the alloys (like putting aluminium pans in a dishwasher).
Use fairy liquid or a very mild degreaser and completely dry all components prior to reassembly. A small drop of lube on the O-rings keeps them in good order.
I agree, no wd40 or suchlike unless you want fireworks.

thanks Littlekilmory i read up on the wildcat site and there saying the same as you
i was going to strip it down and just clean the internals to be honest
a product called ELBOW GREASE seem to work on cleaning mops and is solvent free
if fairy liquid dos'nt clean it i might try a few drops of that in demin water
