Vacuum for ash?

Can only tell you as I’ve found… yes there is a conical filter… I just rinse it under the tap ( not very often) and use another until it dries on the rad.
Have tried Henry’s and other ash canister hoovers but the Dyson beats all.

Some makes are better than others yes.

I got divorced nearly 30yr ago and the only thing I walked away was my Henry and still gets used it was a few year old then so must be around 40yr old now and still going strong.
I only use the `Henry on the fire when I do a deep clean other than that I use dust pan and brush
Yes,same here.I have my Mother's Henry here now,mid 1980s.
I currently living in a bungalow under internal renovations, the olde Henry sucks everything up.
The Dyson wouldn't last a minute 😀😀

Makita are good, I have loads of that brand.
But no small electrical item in my workshop has lasted longer than my Henry, nearly 30 years old :), and it's never gone wrong, not even a replacement switch...
We still have the original metal body version of the Numatic Henry!
Can't see that many of the originals still being around, but ours is still in good nick and probably from the 80's

I still use a Clark Ash Filter that I bought many years ago on mine. Works with any vacuum as an in-line filter - just plug the hose of your existing vac into it & job done. Believe this one is discontinued now but Einhell still sell the same type of thing👍

Have a look in the local auction as you gets lots of different sorts go through from house clearance and they don't make much.
Will have been PAT tested and usually come with a couple of days trail so if it doesn't work you take it back and get your money back

Just open the front door and the backdoor of your house at the same time on a windy day.
All the ash will miraculously dissappear!
Umm..... that's usually while I'm carrying the ash pan resulting in severe dandruff in a snowstorm.

Cheap Titan vac from screwfix, brilliant! We run two woodburners daily through winter (soon to be 3). No clogging problems at all.
