Vacuum packer recommendations

Domestic use
Like bagging up a single deer in a weekend into family meal portions?
Then I'd use a standard Lidl /Amazon vacuum packing machine . Mostly much over much

But the thing that will make your life easier is buying the premade bags (20x30cm is a decent size)

You can make bigger or smaller bags off the roll when you need but it's a pain making every bag

Next step up from these basic machines is the chamber vac and it would be pretty rare you'd need one at home . But if you want to splash out the 300 quid sous vide tools version is a nice piece of kit when I used one a while back

Aldi, lidl, butcher's sundries or similar. As above, buy the pre formed bags, makes life much easier. Butcher's sundries Web site again. Pre freeze your burgers before packing or they will deform.

Good advice
Freeze the burgers before bagging
Double bag anything with bones sticking out
Dry your sausages for a day before packing
But proper haccp labels rather than scrawling on the bag in Sharpie

You can just put a meat saver pad over protruding bone ends. Gives better protection, and works out a bit cheaper than using two bags.
(Better still, bone everything out. The only thing I ever leave the bone in is shanks).

Lidl have the silver crest vacuum sealer in special buys from today.
Just bought one and it's organised a couple of CWD very efficiently

My daughter got me a Lidl vac-packer for Xmas.

Not had chance to use it yet, but all the reviews on here were positive so should be an improvement on the freezer bags I used to use 🤞🏻

I did a bit of research two or three years ago and ended up buying a ‘foodsaver’ model. I’ve found it to be pretty good. One tip I would pass on is not to clip it closed when storing it after use as that flattens out the seals making it less efficient. I’ve found it better to put the clip to the closed position then shut the lid.
