Are these scopes actually any good there are so many Chinese scopes on the market are they all the same re branded or are some of them actually good Im normally a ziess swaro and S&B man but im after something with ballistic turrets after selling my last pm2 and was wondering if its worth a go

Im interested also. i do wonder if the continental is on a level with scopes such as this Leupold VX-3 Riflescope 3.5-10×50MM?

In addition to the Continental hunting scope on my second stalking rifle, I use Continental x8 6-48x56 ED MOA on my 22LR Benchrest Rifles and wouldn't consider anything else. Best bang for the buck on the market as well as exceptional clarity glass, excellent build quality and my preferred floating dot reticule.

I've tried numerous scopes on my Lantac and Marlin Gallery rifles and only switched over from Vector to Steiner Ranger 4s 4-16x44 (with same 4Ai reticule) as Vector don't offer anything of the same extreme compactness and light weight (518g) with the same magnification range (older eyes, I prefer shooting with higher mag). I tried several LPVO options and settled with the Continental 3-18x50 until a new second hand Steiner came up on here for £600 and it works so well and saves 127g over the Vector that I bought a second, but even with £100 off offer it still cost £1,050 from Uttings, which is clearly a totally different price range.

I considered Leupold but they are very similar price range to the Steiner and don't offer equivalent specs I was looking for. There are surprisingly few compact, lightweight, reasonable mag range scopes with side parallax.

aye i do like the parallax adjustment for range and high quality glass i have on my meopta optika i must admit.this leupold dun have parallax adjust

Steiner on the two gallery rifles:

Vector on longer Lantac, then 30-06 (no photo on 6.5CM as used for just half dozen outings before the 6.5 has been sold to make way for 30-30 lever action):

Need a scope for this BSA Monarch .270 . I finally decided to threat the rifle and have now sprayed the ASE mod black. but i flogged the swarovski as it was too much magnification for closer shots from the high seat. im hoping to be good to go for the rut instead of using my .243 this year.I kept the front sight intact so the rifle still looks almost original.

Even Vector have produced a ballistic turret that can be added to the Continental range for a princely £40. I added one to the 3-18x50 on the second stalking rifle although haven't had cause to use yet as it's being primarily used in woodland. It's very crude but perfectly workable for the money.

So many company are doing thos now its a shame ones no made for the steiner as far as im aware they only make them for the ranger 4 6-24x50 which is a real shame

A Leupold scope would sit nicely on that. I have 3 of them, none of mine have parallax adjustment, and I like them very much. Nice understated scopes that suit classic stalking rifles very well.
Failing that, I have GPO scope for sale, brand new still in box, that might interest you.

How did you thread it without losing the foresight? Was there enough barrel in front of it, or did you get the foresight repositioned?

I have a PM2 12-50 and a low-mag Continental (1-10x).
The Vector is nice, but nowhere near as nice build quality as the Schmidt.
Obviously the Vector is a lot cheaper, so pay your money and take your choice.
Is the S&B worth the extra money? Probably not, but if you really need that extra clarity in low light, then buy one

I have a Continental 2.5-15x56, I rate it higher than the Leupold VX3L with the funny shaped front lens that I owned a while back.
If I needed yet another day scope my first port of call would be Vector Continental.
Excellent for the price

A few videos on YT regarding the build quality of SOME not all of the continental range of scopes, I was considering one due to price vs spec that they offer and OW had some for a good price but after watching some reviews I didn't want to take the chance of possibly getting a lemon.

All continentals have a life time warranty, any issues at all. You can’t go wrong (but I’m not selling my PM2 yet lol)
