My dog is 16 years old mrs took him to vets today he has a serious heart murmur (he only went for booster) my mrs turned round and said you said that last time and said our terrier has a murmur too vet shuts up gives dog booster no more said anyone else get this from there vets I think it's a pish take

my local vets cost my 9 year old springador his life! i will never trust larkmead vets again.the first young vet ,after i explained the problem said old dogs do that!! two weeks later he collapsed at home take back to vets on pills more tests etc long story short £3500 all sorts of tests xrays etc etc storm had to be put down two weeks later.the vets practice could not tell me why he died or what his illness was ,just sorry it was his time BOLLOCKS.best working dog i ever had.never trust vets they just want to take your money and in my case they did not care about my dog.i would love to sue the practice and get them shut down shower of shite.

Murmurs are common and are either normal for thedog/cat/human or they can be a sign of a life-threatening illness. We grade them 1 - 6 and if a murmur goes from 2 to 4, it's a concern.

Thanks guys for the replying I suppose for some of the staff its just a job day in day out no care or concern before the vets was taken over by a larger company there was a sense of personal care and attention and not the feeling of I'm trying to be ripped off sorry guys RANT OVER AND VENTED

yes, there are good honest vets and there are those monetizing on peoples beloved pets...sadly only experience will teach you which is which in your area but I have to say we've been lucky with Vets around where I live....Best Vet I ever met was a specialist in labradors in Edinburgh, but a basic booster was something like £180 vs £40, and a wormer was around £70, where I pay maybe £6.5 at my local vet now...granted, Edinburgh operational costs are a lot higher too...but...

I've always had really good vets. I think very few are in it just for the money: most of them do actually care about animals too.
