Vinyl Friday

From a blues album with a title that will never be improved upon!

Not so noticeable on this track but elsewhere you have to acknowledge quite the most “perfectly imperfect” guitar playing.

I saw Tears for Fears live, performing this for a private audience in the Bahamas back in 2007. It sounds way more exotic than it was......

Oleta Adams on backing vocals.

Just. Incredible. Musicians.

And every track on that album is an absolute gem, got panned by the critics for not turn out his rock stuff, turned his back on America & went back to his Native American roots. Pure magic.

The Raymen, nice stuff K. As a child & Shawnee Indian, he had to hide from the KKK. Eventually married a Danish girl & moved to Copenhagen where he died. One of the true greats of Rock n roll. That album used to be hard to get, I have the original & the reissue, its sometimes called the Navajo or chicken shack album, but its self titled, a simply must have record, recorded with his brother in his mothers chicken shack. An absolute thing of beauty. Reminiscent of the Stones at their best, but 100 x better. Its got that Indian stomp going on. Hang on to that plectrum!!!
