Vinyl Friday

I think it's possible I've posted this before and if so, I apologise. It is, of course a familiar tune to almost everyone. But to my mind is a great listen anyway. Many of the late '70s concerts of Led Zeppelin if you look at them now online were pretty poor. They were (are) of course fantastic musicians and writers. But drugs, especially in the case of Jimmy Page were a problem and it showed. Arguably their best concert was their reunion for Celebration Day in 2007 and if you are into them it's worth getting the CD. Ever since Led Zep came to an end, Robert Plant has spent his time flitting from one type of music to another. Some of it pretty good. Some, not so much. One of his collaborations was with Band Of Joy, a name resurrected from the past with whom he recorded a retrospective "Ramble On" and here it is played live. That base line is so evocative. Maybe not as good as John Paul Jones, but it still hits you. Well worth a listen.
