Anyone using these?

I understand they are the most expansive of their range and down to lower velocities so might be good for a shorter 20" barrel 308

Anyone experience of what they are like chest shooting smaller species like Row and how they perform at longer ranges 2-300yds

Cheers

I have been using the 140 Eagles for a few years now.

The expansion is excellent even out past your required 2/300 yards.

I haven’t noticed any difference between large or smaller Deer in regards of performance. They are VERY emphatic killers.
I don’t understand why some people want a projectile that kills quickly but moan about the damage done?

We are driving a projectile at very high speeds into flesh and bone causing massive trauma to the nervous system and rapid blood loss, that’s how projectiles kill … what do people expect?

I would rather write of a shoulder of every Deer I shoot in the knowing that it was killed very quickly and didn’t manage to get away into cover.

In short, I’m very happy with the Eagles 👍

Kind regards,
Bob.

I have just loaded some of these for my .308. Looking forward to seeing the results. I was using barnes TTSX 130gr but struggling to find any blood trail with a few runners on. Thankfully, I haven’t lost any but changed ammo before I did.

Completely agree @bobthenailer, an ethical kill is more important to me than a bit of meat damage.

I use these as my night shooting bullets where I don't mind about carcass damage and simply don't want runners.
Although the ranges are are not out to 300m (more like 1/2 that) I use an 18" barrel and as @bobthenailer suggests, they are very emphatic killers,
