Well-Known Member
Well I upgraded my Vodafone account, then looked at my bills and found they were scamming me£5 a month for a third party service that they have admitted to me doesn't exist.

So i cancelled my upgrade within three days and returned the new phone and specifically asked to be put back to my old tariff .

my October bill arrives. £222.

They have charged me for my new phone even though it's been sent back and acknowledged it has been received.

They have put on me on an even higher tariff than I had originally asked for, not only for November but also for October.

and for my second phone which was a £7.50 a month they are charging me £33 a month and have done so for out and November.

And have put me under contract for a further two years, so I can't even leave them and go elsewhere withoutaying in advance two years of fees.

I I have spent days trying to talk to them, but as soon as an advisor, who all see where the problem is tries to get authority, I am put on hold and then call dropped.

Spoken to the ombudsman - they can't do anything for 8 weeks, and then only if vodafone agree to issue me with a deadlock letter.

What a complete and utter shambles.

I could go to small claims but a Edinburgh court order is difficult to enforce in Newbury.

And if you look at the eForum on vodafones own website, I am getting off lightly.

I am am going to be an off grid spoon widler!

Been there they are crocks that make bankers look like nuns when I cancelled they asked if I'd come back I'd said I'd prefer to naked wrestle a bear than use them again I also found swearing alot got me transferred to the boss quite fast

Well, I have had one pm from a very kind SD member who is also an employee of Vodafone at Head Office. He has offered to find me a grown up to sort it all out for me.

My faith in humanity is being restored. He knows who is and thank you.

Shower of sxxt, cancelled my phone in March, just received a e mail from a dept collection company, as I have not payed my monthly rental to nov, rang Vodafone from NZ , after 40mins, they agree phone has not been used and my account does not exist, next breath she asks how would I like to pay ?, I say we agreed I did not owe them anything, O yes she says, we will text you to confirm this,
ME , YOU DON,T KNOW MY number,
her , have you changed it
me, my new number is xxxxxxxxxx
her do you have a UK number
me, why would I as I explained I live in NZ
her , oh
me , you can e mail me
her, we don't e mail
me, you do because you sent me a bill every month when I was on the uk
her, I will have to get back to you
I have heard nothing for a week, so assume they are texting who ever has my old number.

I am in the middle of fighting these cu**s, I left them in June, went to another provider, they made the process as fu**ed up & painful as they could,I ended up halfway through with a "Split service", my phone would take calls in from my new provider, but I wasn't able to call out as Vodaphone had not completed their side of the deal, many on line "Chats" with idiots of foreign extraction later, I am still getting demands for payment for my I pad, currently in the hundreds, I think maybe the latest request from me for an "Itemised account statement" may have finally gotten thru their thick skulls, just waiting for it now, or perhaps I might see the bailiffs come knocking?

Can I ask if those of you who are experiencing problems are business or personal users?

I have had a business phone with them for the last 18 years & there haven't been any problems, although perhaps they aren't the cheapest. With not being sent paper bills anymore it's difficult to keep tabs on it but I've just been back though my bank statements to check. Everything seems normal apart from a slight increase when I was working in Ireland & Hong Kong, which I would expect.

Mine was private, with them for 9yrs, never a problem, mainly because I never asked them anything. Don,t start me on the lies they told while tryin to unlock ,y phone which I purchased.

one piece of request that the helpful chap in the Vodafone store did give me was whenever I should go with, please please do any new purchases or upgrades in store. That way both parties can make sure you have the correct deal for you. Even the Vodafone stores have real problems with their call centres.

I had been with them for about 15 years, since BT went cellnet, I wouldn't go back to them if they were the last providers on the planet!!!!!!!!, I 'll go look for an old red box first.:dummy:

Absolute fnnnnnn nightmare dealing with them. I have been paying for sons mobile for years. He has own Iphone 4 but wanted to get 6s as he now has a job. Tried x4 to get through to VP no joy. Went in store told couldn't upgrade from a monthly sim only contract. Eventually got through to VP via their call back service(it actually works). Told by them yes could upgrade to 6s on a new 2 yr contract. Back up to YP at Yate, spent 45 mins queeing eventually got to see sales rep, tried to do deal in store computer system would not allow. Even his manager couldn't do it. Back home another call back from VP and they did upgrade on phone.

Told phone delivery would be Tuesday via DPD.

Son gets txt on Sunday from DPD delivery Monday, arrange for them to deliver next door. Guess what did they ********.

So appears phone was delivered yesterday so son happy.

Now got to get hold of VP and speak to change of ownership team to get the contract/bill assigned to him.

Frankly dreading it.

So if the kindly SD member who works for VP reads this please if they are senior enough can they highlight these issues to the powers to be.

Incidentally have an on going complaint with 3 re a sim that would not work in USA.

In my experience all mobile phone cos are absolutly crap at dealing with any form of complaint or issues

Sorry rant over, but spent most of Sat farting about and it was glourious weather could have been doing much more productive things.

Oh Dear where do I start.......

Been with 3 for years and no problems but coverage could be better. They didn't offer the package I wanted for two phones so I went to Voda.
Despite spending over SIX hours on the phone to them (in total) it still took them FOUR weeks to provide a fully working service on a two phone package. I ended up with a number of problems with the biggest being a split porting; phone could call out ONLY. Laughably when I complained at one point Voda asked what number I could be contacted on.................
What landline have you sir?
Can we contact you on the other number? well you can but through the day we are 50 miles apart!!!
You could email me like everybody else is having to do so that I know to ring them.

Eventually one guy felt sorry for me so sent a £10 credit......... TEN QUID!

This was a business phone package. When I explained I couldn't do any online banking due to texted passcodes (which I couldn't receive) they said can't you use the other phone..... Jesus! what you mean the one that isn't registered on them?

The best bit was I have an hour commute so hands free I just used to ring them and make a nuisance of myself.

Be careful on the hours stated by them; after a few pints  I had an interesting chat with one guy and asked how many hours are in a day? he refused to answer a silly question. I mentioned it wasn't silly and was a perfectly reasonable one. Eventually we agreed there were 24 hours but as they state "business hours" which is a totally misleading term then 24 hours actually means FIVE DAYS!
Apparently they work 12 hours so that's two days plus a weekend so nothing can really be expected to happen until the fifth day. This 24 hour lark was tried THREE times so it was as if they were just stalling for time.

All now nearly sorted.... fully functional but awaiting a call back to discuss compensation.
I ended up giving them an English lesson on what was a refund and what was compensation. I do not view being given back my own money (first months payment) as compensation when the service was unusable anyway. What about the six hours plus wasted on the phone, numerous emails to contacts to advise them etc.

Be careful stopping D.D's there is a clause that says you have received a discount of about £4 /mth. I can only assume that if you stopped it then this would be added to the debt!

Bloody infuriating!

Just an update. A very kind SD member who works for Vodafone has asked a colleague in the customer services to sort this for me, and funds are being refunded, back onto previous charge levels and have PAC codes so I can go elsewhere. Quite where I am not so sure.

I think it also helped that I did sit down for a couple of hours and put things in writing with a clear trail of evidence. It gives the other side something to work with and clearly shows your side of the story. With the benefit of hindsight, dotty waste time in the call centre - just write.

Thanks to our are fellow SD member - he asked me not to reveal his name as will be inundated but he knows who is - thank you.

Don`t you just wish you could go back to the old days ... no pc`s and definitely no mobile phones?
