I absolutely love my Vorn. What I will say is from my research before making the purchase, I found those who don’t get on with them are of a larger build. I’m not just talking overweight, if you have a large chest you may struggle to manoeuvre your arm to grab the barrel over your shoulder.
I can get my rifle up on sticks just as fast as with a standard sling. The benefit of it being stable on your back and out the way for obstacles is priceless in my opinion. One thing I don’t like is I cant use a roe sack, also the barrel does extent higher than your head so can be pain in tight woodland. For me the benefits far outweigh these two drawbacks.

I have had a Vorn for longer than I can remember.
It is perfect for the Hill (what I bought it for), as the rifle is held balanced and upright. It was on the Hill last month, carrying my beloved .275
I also use it locally, on our wee syndicate shoot. Crashing about in the dark trying to find my high seat; it holds, the rifle, binos. TI, gralloch kit - not to mention my flask and wraps.

I have never used the "rip cord" quick release mechanism, and so cannot speak to that.

Love mine on the hill. Well worth it
It’s a wet Sunday stuck inside recovering from surgery so I’ve also found a gratuitous photo of my old one in use. I’ve got a new one but haven’t used that yet. 11 surgery’s on my leg over the last three years have been hampered its use. It’s a little wider for larger scopes I’ve found.

I've had an EV30 pretty much since they came out and my experiences with it are much the same as @scotch_egg in post 2. I shied away from the older models because my 56mm objective scope didn't play nicely with them.
I use mine several times a week in mixed terrain but get the rifle out in more dense woodland due to the muzzle catching on branches. I shoot in some very publicly sensitive areas and find the muzzle cover beneficial here. I also pack collapsed Viperflex sticks next to the rifle and they look like walking poles to help disguise what I'm carrying. I generally only use it fairly empty and cinched down with just basic First-Aid kit, Drag slings, spare knife, breast saw and water bladder. I also pack a waterproof shell if I go out when it's dry but rain expected or stuff outer wear into it if it gets warmer.

Just got back from stalking in Scotland. That’s the only time I use mine. It’s very useful as you can have two hands free whilst scrambling up some of the hills - on hands and knees at times. It does catch the barrel when going through the firs, but I can just about put up with that. The one thing that does annoy me is the fact that it’s not at all waterproof. Any kit held within the bag has to be in waterproof bags and it does take some while to fully dry out. My Gerber multi tool was nearly ruined last year by getting soaked. Took some cleaning and oiling afterwards.
I don’t think you’ll regret getting one, but it may need some personal tweaks to be exactly what you require.

Decided the over the shoulder grab is an accident waiting to happen, certainly for aging me with the weight of rifles I like to carry. I have mates (pros) who use them on the hill where that isn’t an issue and they are this years thing, BUT there are other easy ways to fix your rifle to a standard pack if you don’t need the over the shoulder thing.
I ended up just using my existing pack and fixing the rifle to the side (muzzle down) when I am walking out or whatever. Rest of the time it is on my shoulder.

Diver Dave’s waterproofing would be a good idea. I haven’t used the EV yet. It certainly gives the impression of being more water resistant than the original green models.
